Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

Today marks 8 years for Eugene and I... 8 years ago today Eugene and I sat on his blue couch in the Sigma Chi house and had the following conversation:

K: So, are you my boyfriend?
E: Uh, I guess. Do you want me to be?
K: Yes, good so it is official today.

Poor thing... he didn't stand a chance. I was closing the deal whether he liked it or not! :)

This picture is of our first date ever February 2000. We were "just friends" and I took him to KD Kidnap. Looking at this picture I am thankful for many things: 1. Backless shirts went out of style. 2. Hair straighteners were invented. 3. I have never had to wear duck tape (you know what I am talking about) since this night! OUCH!

This picture was taken at our great friend Ray and Ali Hurt's wedding in July of 2000. Again... just friends. I think we both knew how smitten we were with each other, but we had to be cool and play hard to get. I somehow convinced my mother to let me fly to Houston and go to a wedding with a guy she had never met. Thanks Mom for trusting fate! :)

Having fun at Derby Days! I think this was 2001.

Back to our favorite party ever!!! KD Kidnap. This was senior year. Eugene loved his sign I had him to wear during the big "who is my date" event. How fun!

This was the night we got engaged. Eugene proposed in 2004 on my birthday, June 12. He did it on top of the Peabody in Memphis. We went out and partied with friends that night! It was perfect!

Thanks for a wonderful 8 years together Eugene! I love you with all of my heart and can't wait to one day show our kids the terrible picture we have of our first date. :)

so sweet, katie...it's so funny to look back on pictures from college (that wasn't that long ago). i'm thankful backless shirts went out of style too and that i have never had to use duct tape in places it doesn't belong!

It was good to see yall at Chism Lake. That is quite a place! I have now only been twice. The steaks were really good...the atmosphere a little questionable but fun! Maybe we will see yall again. Your trip looked lots of fun!
