Dog Days Of Summer

So, what do you do when the heat index is 109 outside? You stay in the water! That is pretty much the sum of our weekend. We went to Mary Kathryne's dad's house on Saturday and lounged by the pool and then hung out at the river on Sunday. We had a great time with friends and are now on the official countdown until Mary Kathryne and Chris's wedding next weekend! I can't wait!

Our precious & wonderful friends Richard & Natalie went to dinner with us Friday night. So fun!

Saturday we took Sam to swim with us, and he got to play with Sable and Barkley all day. This is mid-Frisbee sprint!

Poor Sable has an eye infection and has to wear goggles. How funny is this!!

Cute Carter Korn... He was not feeling too well this day. But... he still stole the show!

Reach out and touch someone

My mom sent me this picture today of Ava. It was by far the sweetest thing I had seen all day!Mom kept her for a few days last week while Adam and Katie went to the beach. She somehow managed to get Ava still long enough for pigtails!! How cute is she?!?! She literally melts my heart. I love her so much and wish I lived close enough to see her sweet face EVERYDAY!

Have We Been Missed?

I am not even sure if anyone reads my blog anymore since I post so infrequently these days. But, if there is anyone out there... here we go again!

First, I have a camera dilemma. We (OK I) lost the cord that transfers pictures from my camera to the computer. So, I have not been able to upload anything. I finally went to Walgreen's the other day and had a CD made of the worthy pics for blogging. In the meantime I have ordered a new camera!!! I am so excited. Sony discontinued the cord I would need for my camera since they changed the model of the cybershot. So... why not get a new camera, right!?
Here she is... The Canon A590is. I am so excited!
I hear that it is a great camera, and it has lots of wonderful features. I am so proud of myself too. I went to Best Buy to check it out, but was able to save $50 by ordering it off of Amazon.com. I got more accessories and a bigger memory card too. Yay me!! Put that in your budget pipe and smoke it Eugene! :)

Moving on... so what in the world have we been up to? This summer has actually been SUPER busy. I think we have had something to do every weekend it seems. Here are some snippets of our life for the past two months.

We hosted a His & Hers shower at out house for our wonderful friends Mary Kathryne and Chris. Eugene and I are both in their wedding on Aug 2nd. We can't wait!! The party was at our house and turned out wonderful!!

Eugene doing something entertaining! :)

Mary Kathryne's bachelorette party was the last weekend of June. We went up to Kentucky lake, which is about an hour and a half from my house. We had a blast!!!

The whole gang... Please notice the "Tom Selleck" look alike in the picture. He decided to bug us all night long!!

The bride-to-be and me @ Seaton's Restaurant

Two of my dearest friends, Mary Kathryne & Holly!! My life in Tennessee wouldn't be the same without these two girls!

Mary Kathryne in her bride gear that she wore Saturday night. She looked precious!

I FINALLY got to go home this past weekend. It was way too overdue. I hadn't seen my family in 9 weeks. That is just too long for me!!! Of course the weekend flew by, and it was hard to leave Sunday. Ava was the star of the weekend for sure though! We swam all day Saturday at my grandmothers. She did great in the water and wasn't scared at all! She even went down the slide with my brother! She has become quite the chatter box too. She says my name and Unc Gene for Eugene. Too cute!! She says lots of other things, but as long as Katie is part of it that is all that matters!

Ava gearing up for a big swim.

She loved going off the diving board with Adam! He held her up high so she didn't go under.

Playing in her frog pool and saying 1-2-3 yay!

Swimming with her daddy

She LOVED the slide

Getting ready for her big descent.

Saturday night Eugene and I went to an Announcement Fiesta for our friends Ryan and Kathleen. I didn't manage to get a picture of the happy couple, but I did get some pictures with my two best girlfriends from high school, Marcie and Kate!!

Very cute and tiny 6 1/2 month pregnant Marcie. She is having a little girl in October.

Marcie and I look like a big orange blob together... Kate we should have put you in the middle to mix it up! :)
